Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University, Vom, Nigeria, Prof Yakubu Yerima Jabil has emphasized that the Infectious Disease Center Jos, Plateau State known internationally for sustainable contributions to health research and human capacity development is a strategic institution for partnership.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Head and Principal investigator of the Center, Prof Oche Agbaji, the Vice Chancellor noted with tremendous excitement how the center has intellectually become inspiring for scholarly research beneficial to human existence and development.
A statement signed by the Protocol and Information Officer to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Bulus Gambo quotes Prof Jabil stressing that the center has earned both national and international recognition for sustainable contributions to HIV care and treatment, tuberculosis control, laboratory systems strengthening and health research.
Prof Jabil solicited for possible areas of collaboration particularly as regards research, capacity building, structured experiential learning and knowledge and continuous learning.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Head of the Center, Prof Oche Agbaji noted the willingness of his institution to partner the university so as to help improve its positional standing in research studies and development.
He commended the Vice Chancellor and his management team for the tremendous achievements so far recorded.
In his contribution, the Registrar of the university, Benjamin Dachomo appreciated the remarkable partnership anticipated between the university and the center which will redefine the research framework of the faith based institution.
In his speech, the Desk Officer, Advancement and leakages, Mr Ewuga Ulu proposed for both a phased and realistic approach to the partnership to include structured students attachment programmes, pragmatic annual joint plans in accordance with high ethical standards.
Others who spoke at the event including Prof Lokya Nimzing and Dr Patrica Chollom also acknowledged the relevance of the partnership towards consolidating on the achievements recorded at Karl Kumm University.
