Karl Kumm University (KKU) is a faith-based University established by the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) towards building a decent, humane, godly and conscientious society through the provision of quality education and relevant skills. Its main campus is in Vom and the second campus is in Gindiri, specifically, Gindiri Mission Schools. It is a conventional University that seeks to widen and deepen equitable access to life-changing education and skills for the benefit of mankind. It was one of the 20 private universities approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), at its weekly meeting held on 3rd February, 2021, following favourable recommendation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and was thereafter, issued operational licence on 8th April, 2021. It is located in Vom, a serene environment characterised by clement weather for robust and productive scholarship. At the joint meeting of Board of Trustees (BoT) and Governing Council held on 12th May 2021, the Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers were named to mark the commencement of the University.
As a faith-based University, KKU is driven by its vision and mission, and core values such as transparency, accountability, honesty, discipline, truthfulness, integrity, trust and probity. The University has zero tolerance for any anti-social behaviour such as cultism, substance abuse, bullying and the rest. Christian values such as the aforementioned, underwrite our operations at KKU and this is to ensure the production of graduates who are God-fearing in all their engagements. At KKU, we are sensitive and responsive to the needs of society through effective teaching, problem-solving pathbreaking research and high-profile community service. Both students and staff are encouraged to reflect on the Nigerian society with a view to identifying core challenges and think out strategic responses to them.
