Vice Chancellor, Karl Kumm University Vom, Prof Nanven Audu Gambo has urged Non-governmental Organizations to redirect their energy towards designing workable programmes aimed at inculcating good moral values in students of Nigerian Universities. Speaking during an interactive seminar organized by the Back to Base Initiative for Vulnerable People in Collaboration with the university, Prof Gambo noted that this would help reduce the overwhelming percentage of moral decadence among the youths of this country. He thanked the Coordinator and supporting staff of the organization for coming up with such a wonderful programme which was needed to help the students of the institution. Earlier in her remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof Ladi Sandra Adamu disclosed that students of tertiary institutions in this country need a different approach to dealing with the insurmountable distractions challenging them at the moment. She noted that strategic modules must be established to target particularly vulnerable students who may fall victim to peer pressure. Contributing, the Coordinator, of the Back to Base Initiative for Vulnerable People, Mrs. Jennifer Yarima disclosed that her passion for helping vulnerable women and children led her to establish the Non-governmental Organization. Mrs. Yarima, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) Plateau State chapter thanked the Vice Chancellor of the institution for approving the interactive sessions for the students of the institution. In his vote of thanks, the Coordinator of the Students Affairs Division, Dr Bullama Samuel Bulus emphasized the relevance of the seminar towards transforming the students to be better citizens. He urged the students to study hard as the future holds a lot for them if they remain prayerfully focused.
