Vice-Chancellor of Karl Kumm University, Vom, Professor Audu Nanven Gambo, condemns in the strongest terms the climate of grief unleashed on some peaceful farming communities in Bokkos and most recently in Bassa LGAs. All these attacks against sedentary farming communities in some specific locations in Plateau State by some terrorist groups point to the fact that the State has, for long, been the critical target of the bloodthirsty groups. May the souls of all the victims of these senseless attacks and killings rest in peace with the good Lord. We share in this moment of grief felt across the affected communities in these two LGAs. He expressed deepest sympathy with His Excellency, the Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and the entire peace-loving citizens of the State over the needless tragedy that has befallen the two LGAs. He prays for the speedy recovery of those injured and the successful resettlement of those displaced from their ancestral homes. May we all close ranks to defeat this evil that is threatening to erode the foundation of our collective existence. Chinua Achebe cautioned that you must first drive away the hawks before you can warn the chicken not to wander into the forest again. We need each other to protect and defend our common heritage against these enemies of humanity. God bless Plateau State and Nigeria.
