<p>The Vice Chancellor Karl Kumm University Vom, Nigeria, Prof. Nanven Audu Gambo has appealed to Nigerian universities to employ applied research strategies in solving multiple problems confronting the society. Speaking when he hosted the leadership of Crest Research and Development Initiative (CRADI) at the Senate Chambers of the institution , the Vice Chancellor noted that most researches done in the country eventually end up in shelves and are not considered for the purpose of crafting policies in response to problems confronting humanity. A statement signed by the Protocol and Information Officer of the institution, Bulus Gambo quoted Prof Gambo as saying there is urgent need for Nigerian universities to focus on generating developmental ideas which are critically needed to tackle numerous asymmetric security threats confronting the country. He specifically challenged researchers to come up with strategies for tackling the challenges posed by climate change. He noted with great satisfaction that the research team has been able to add value to the country through knowledge production, critical and systemic thinking for the wholistic transformation of the society. The Vice Chancellor expressed delight in the readiness of the institution to partner with the team considering the mutual benefits to be derived from from the anticipated partnership. Earlier in his remarks, the Leader of CRADI, Mr. Francis Emmanuel Tsaku explained that the team decided to visit the institution to seek for collaboration that would widen the scope of its research engagements and help generate more funding evidence-based research. He noted that CRADI is a non-profit research institute dedicated to improving human capital production and development through evidence-based research. The Leader revealed that in the past few years, the team had focused on various research works and partnering with great institutions both within and outside the continent of Africa with remarkable results. He disclosed that the team has come to seek to partner with Karl Kumm University, particularly in the area of joint research and publications which will no doubt have huge impact on the institution and the larger Nigerian society. Contributing, the Director of Research of the Institute, Mr. Christian Adanu, expressed the readiness of the team to commence work with the institution for the betterment of humanity. In his vote of thanks, the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Benjamin Dachomo expressed hope that the partnership will produce significant results for the benefit of humanity and the nation at large.</p>
