The University

Karl Kümm University, Vom is a private University established by the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) on 3rd February, 2021 as part of the continuing efforts of the Church to contribute to the provision of education and qualitative manpower development in Nigeria and beyond. The University is named in honour of Hermann Karl Wilhelm Kümm, the leader of the team of the British missionaries of the Sudan United Mission (SUM, British Branch) that came to Nigeria in 1904 and out of whose activities the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) was established and grew. It is this church that is the proprietor of the University.

The main campus of the University is located at Vom, Jos-South Local Government Area of Plateau State, with a second campus situated within the famous Gindiri Schools Compound, located in Gindiri district of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. These locations are characterised by extra-ordinary and striking scenery, and a near temperate climate associated with the beautiful high lands of the Jos-Plateau in Nigeria, which is conducive for learning and research.

The founders of Karl Kümm University believe that God is the author of all knowledge and truth and He gives it for the development of mankind and to glorify Himself. The University would therefore train students to appreciate that knowledge is first given by God and must be used to glorify him in all its applications. This basic foundation would create selflessness and commitment to work to the glory of God and the betterment of the society.
